What are the balloons made of?
Latex balloons are made from the sap of the rubber tree, Heveabrasiliensis. Rubber trees are native to Malaysia.
Will the balloon pop when I twist it?
No. Latex balloons are very flexible and twisty balloons are made to be manipulated. Latex balloons will burst if over-inflated.
Why do the balloons have numbers, 160 260 350 and so on?
The numbers indicate the size of the balloons. The first number is the diameter and the next two numbers are the length. Example: 260Q balloon -- will inflate to be 2 inches in diameter and approximately 60 inches long.
What other balloons are used in balloon sculpting and twisting?
Almost any balloon can be used in a design but the most popular are the 260's. We also use 160s, 321 bee bodies, 350s, 646s, hearts, donuts, blossoms and various round sizes. You are only limited by your imagination.
Can 260s be inflated by mouth?
We have seen a few clowns do it. But it is not recommended by the balloon manufacturers as it can put stress on the blood vessels in the head. We suggest you use a hand air inflator, pocket pump, or electric pump.
Can balloons be effected by the weather?
Yes. Latex balloons are effected by sunlight, temperature, humidity and age. All of these will effect the performance of the balloons and to some degree decrease the life of your creation.
